Hi there!

How nice of you to browse through my online store!

I'm Jente, and I work as a psychologist (formally a Health Care Psychologist on the path to becoming a specialist/clinical psychologist).

In my work as psychologist, I've noticed that (sometimes challenging) verbal therapies become more enjoyable and easier with vivid visual aids. Since I couldn't find what I was looking for, I started drawing them myself. I created a poster with schemas and modes from schema therapy, and later, I developed cards to go along with it. Colleagues and fellow students responded with enthusiasm, asking if they could purchase my drawings to use in their own treatments.

To be able to print these illustrations, I began drawing on my tablet instead of using traditional pen and paper. I'll gradually be adding new illustrations for treatments and other psychological tools. Always with the same goal: to make psychological treatments and diagnostics more comprehensible, engaging, emotional, and easier to grasp!

Interested in a larger quantity or a customized edition? Or do you have other questions? Feel free to email me at Jente @kenschetser.nl!

Kenschetser?

Kenschetser is the name of my own little business. The name is derived from the word 'kenschetsen' in Dutch. According to the Van Dale dictionary, 'kenschetsen' means: 1) to give a description of someone or something, and 2) to characterize or delineate. The verb 'kenschetsen' is also used to mean illustrate, distinguish, and draw – exactly what I do!

I would appreciate it if you would respect the copyright of my illustrations, along with the many hours of work, attention, and love that I've put into them. This means refraining from copying or scanning the drawings without my permission. Currently, there are several forms available for free download.

I am working on additional materials. Are you missing any CBT tools? Feel free to email me with your ideas!

After downloading, you can print the CBT forms as many times as you like. You can also give them to clients so they can practice at home.

The only thing I would prefer is that you don't alter the files, cut things out, or, for example, remove my website address. Enjoy using them!

I appreciate it if you respect the copyright on my illustrations, especially considering the many hours of work, attention, and love put into them. This means refraining from copying or scanning the drawings without my permission. If you're looking for a different edition, size, or format, or if you're interested in collaboration, feel free to reach out.

Schema therapy is one of the proven effective treatments for personality issues developed by Jeffrey Young. Moreover, it is increasingly being used for individuals with other persistent issues that don't easily resolve with more symptom-focused treatments.

Of course, schema therapy isn't solely about understanding the language and concepts. However, supporting the (sometimes challenging) language with visual material, including the illustrations I've drawn, can be helpful. An additional benefit is that illustrations more swiftly evoke emotions; "it strengthens the affective component of therapy."

For more information about schema therapy, you can visit the website of the 'Verening voor Schematherapie' (the Dutch Schema Therapy Association).

Disclaimer: The following experiences have been automatically translated from Dutch to English.

----------
Marije Oude Alink - Health care psychologist

"What's the common thread between delivering feedback on a neuropsychological assessment and explaining schema therapy? In fact, what do psychological assessments and treatments often share?

It's a lot. A lot of theory with verbal explanations and text. Have you, as a practitioner, ever noticed that sometimes things get a bit blurry? Have you ever thought, while giving or receiving explanations: wow, that's a lot to remember, how can this be more concise, more clear? Are you just a human who understands things better with supporting visual material? Or like me, do you prefer theory presented in a visually organized overview? Are you currently working with NPOs and/or schema therapy? Search no more.

As a psychologist heavily involved in neuropsychological diagnostics, I've long wished to provide feedback in a more visual and clear manner as an alternative to verbal or written explanations. Patients, family members, and colleagues can process and comprehend the information given in a different way. Additionally, in the role of a novice, I experience the same need when understanding, comprehending, and mastering the theory of other therapeutic approaches, such as schema therapy.

It was a pleasant coincidence when I recently caught up with Jente de Jong. We discovered that, in addition to this need, we share a common interest in drawing and visual representation. While I sketch with a pencil for personal use, this absolute ace has precisely created something that can help a lot of people and colleagues: drawings that enhance the theory of schema therapy and NPOs. I have been immensely excited about it from the first glance, and I am pleased to bring her creations to the attention of my colleagues! Take a look at her website, and keep an eye on it because I am sure that, in addition to the current offerings, there are more beautiful additions to come from these talented hands."

----------
Jikkina Holtman - Health care psychologist (Clinical Psychologist in Training)

"- A picture is worth a thousand words -

When complex matters need to be explained, Jente de Jong (aka Kenschetser) starts drawing. The visuals are captivating and instantly comprehensible. Sometimes endearing or downright funny. Finally, I have found a way to simplify the explanation of schema therapy.

That's step 1; and that's already quite a bit in practice.

But it doesn't end there.

Step 2 is for the patient to gain insight into themselves, underlying needs, and gain control over their behavior and emotional world. This can quickly become complex. Using a lot of language is then a risk.

With Kenschetser's engaging drawings, less (unnecessary) language is needed. And presto, suddenly I see patients stepping out of their heads, and there is room to feel. It's not just about understanding with the mind; suddenly, feelings are allowed to participate.

Oh, and then my heart leaps a thousand times because I see that it works! So thrilled that I want to write about it on LinkedIn for the first time."

----------
Michel Lahaye - Clinical Psychologist, Psychology Lecturer, Anxiety Management Workshops (www.angstvrij.be)

"A little over two weeks ago, I received the schema therapy cards and discussion boards from Kenschetser, and I immediately started using them!

Both in my private practice and during my teaching assignment, the reactions were positive. The cards are well-crafted and user-friendly.

How effective it is to make something visual, even for adults, and not get stuck in that language register. The drawings may seem very simple, but that's precisely their strength. The client can immediately recognize or indicate a specific mode. For myself, it's also easy to work with due to the clear colors and logical organization. It's also nice that the new schemas are included!

Finally, with students, I spread them across the entire classroom and let them exchange what they recognize in small groups.

Or in other words: a warm recommendation that will give you many creative possibilities!"

----------
Veronique Erkens - Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist

"Over the years, I've been working in the Specialized Mental Health Care (SGGZ), gaining knowledge in schema therapy. However, I didn't always feel equally competent in discussing the complex terms of schemas and modes with children, adolescents, and/or parents.

The materials developed by Kenschetser strongly encourage using them to discuss themes with children, adolescents, and parents in a clear and visual manner. Additionally, the cheerful drawings activate my own happy child mode and keep the dysfunctional parent modes in the background.

In short, I enjoy working with the materials and no longer feel hesitant to use the tools of schema therapy.

A true recommendation and must-have for all working from a schema therapy perspective!"

----------
Rishma Khubsing - Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist

"At the Schema Therapy Congress 2023, I was introduced to the work of Jente from Kenschetser. She had a vibrant booth that immediately caught my attention.

Among the materials was a poster that neatly presents the basic needs, including the two new ones, and links them to schemas. It's very clear and adds more color to my practice, while the illustrations bring liveliness to the understanding of modes.

Both my patients and I find the case conceptualization form very pleasant as it promotes more interaction. Previously, I filled in the form with the patient on the computer, but this method is much more enjoyable. It's well-designed, and I've noticed that the case conceptualization form is now filled out more quickly, with the patient doing it. This proves to be efficient and comfortable. We discuss complex and often sad topics, and this approach adds a breath of fresh air.

Years ago, I created mode cards to make the treatment more visual. However, I still decided to purchase the mode board and magnets because Jente's mode model looks different, allowing patients to label the modes themselves with a name they find fitting. This helps patients recognize themselves in the modes even better.

Lastly, I use the mode cards during techniques like the chair work. The explanations on the back are very useful.

In conclusion, Jente, you've gained a fan! Keep up the good work!

I look forward to your future work."

∙ How were the products created?I, Jente de Jong, draw all the products myself on my iPad. When something is missing in my work as a psychologist - and I can't find what I'm looking for elsewhere - I explore whether I can create it myself. The products are printed in small editions and sold through this webshop.

∙ What does Kenschetser mean? The name is derived from the Dutch word 'kenschetsen.' According to the Van Dale dictionary, 'kenschetsen' means: 1) to give a description of someone or something, and 2) to characterize or illustrate. The verb 'kenschetsen' is also used to mean: illustrate, distinguish, and draw. Exactly what I do!

∙ If a product I want is marked as sold out, can I still order it?Absolutely! The delivery time will be a bit longer as it needs to be reprinted. The delivery times vary per product (approximately one week for posters, around four weeks for card sets). You can place your order by ignoring the 'sold out' text and adding the product to your shopping cart. Feel free to send a message if you have any questions about this.

∙ I want to place a large order for my department, how does that work?Great! Get in touch with me via Jente @kenschetser.nl, the contact form, or through WhatsApp and I'll be happy to discuss the options.

∙ How is sustainability taken into account? We prioritize sustainability and the environment as much as possible. Orders are shipped in the smallest possible boxes to minimize transportation waste. Our main printing facility is ISO 14000-1 (environment) certified, and the paper and packaging materials are FSC certified (yes, even the colorful bags). The adhesive for the vibrant heart stickers is water-based. The tins are made of recyclable aluminum, the bags are Fair Trade organic cotton, and the clothing (used for promotion) is made from organic cotton and recycled PET bottles. We order products in small editions to avoid wastage.

∙ If I place an order with multiple products with different delivery times, when will my package be shipped?Your package will be shipped when it is entirely complete. So, for example, if you order posters and a card set, and the card set is sold out, you will receive the entire order within the card set's delivery time. If you prefer to receive something earlier, you could place two separate orders: one with the items in stock and one with items in reprint. Keep in mind that you'll be charged for shipping twice.

∙ Can I order from a country other than the Netherlands?Yes, you can! Currently, you can also order from Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom via the webshop. If you live and work elsewhere, send me an email, and we'll see what we can do. When ordering as a business from a country other than the Netherlands, ensure you fill in your VAT number correctly. The webshop will automatically deduct the VAT (intra-community delivery with VAT shifted).

∙ Can I use the drawings for my department, such as in a brochure for clients or on the website? My drawings are protected by copyright and cannot be copied or used without my written permission. If you'd like to use them and are interested in collaborating, send a message to Jente @kenschetser.nl, via the contact form, or through WhatsApp, and we can explore possibilities together.

∙ I notice a small mistake in one of the products, can I report it to you?Yes, please do! All products are made with great care and attention, but it's still human work. If you find a typo or another mistake, let me know, and I'll correct it for the next print.

∙ You work as a psychologist, can I receive treatment from you? This website is solely intended as a webshop for the illustrations I create and for information about the products. You cannot receive treatment from me through this website.

∙ I have a great idea for a product that I miss in my work as a psychologist, can we brainstorm about it?Certainly, that sounds like a lot of fun! Send me a message at Jente @kenschetser.nl, via the contact form, or through WhatsApp. I'll get in touch with you to discuss the possibilities.

Delivery Time

Of course, I'm committed to dispatching your order as promptly as possible. I run everything on my own, alongside my job as a psychologist. This, combined with the unpredictability of package delivery services, makes it challenging to provide exact delivery timeframes. You can expect your order to be shipped within 5 working days if all items are in stock. You can verify this in the product overview. Generally, I tend to ship faster, but I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised by an earlier delivery than disappointed by a delay : ).

When products are not in stock, they are reprinted before being shipped.

The print runs are relatively small. This is sustainable (printing only as much as there's demand for) and I can pre-finance it myself. If you want a large quantity, it's likely I won't have it in stock. In that case, you'll need to wait around a week and a half for your order. Feel free to send a message via email or WhatsApp if you have questions about this.

Shipping Method and Costs

In general, I ship packages via PostNL. You will receive a tracking number via email once the package has been sent, allowing you to monitor its delivery progress. Shipping costs have become quite steep, and unfortunately, I have to pass on a contribution for these costs. At Kenschetser, you'll be charged €6.50 for shipping when shipping to the Netherlands. Shipping costs to other countries depend on the costs for international shipping to your country. These costs will be calculated in your shopping cart if you indicate the desired country. This will be automatically displayed in your shopping cart. If you order from outside the EU, there is 0 percent VAT on the invoice. You are then responsible for paying VAT and any import costs in your own country. Posters are shipped in a rectangular tube-like container, as PostNL imposes a substantial surcharge for sending round objects.

Pick-Up Instead of Shipping Do you live or work in Groningen? In some cases, I can deliver the order to you for free or you can pick it up from me. However, I don't have a physical store that's open all the time, so this can only be done by appointment. Interested in this option? Reach out to me via WhatsApp.

Payment

All prices displayed in the webshop are in euros, including VAT and excluding shipping costs. You can make payment directly via iDEAL, PayPal or transfer the amount via bank transfer. If you choose to collect the order in person or have it delivered by me, you can also pay using a payment request or Tikkie.

Interested in placing a large corporate order, but the above payment methods don't align with your organization's preferred payment method? Send a message to jente @kenschetser.nl. I can send you an invoice in that case.

Returns I strive to showcase and describe the products as accurately as possible so that you know what you're purchasing. If, however, it doesn't meet your expectations, that's unfortunate but understandable. You can return the product in good condition within 14 days of receiving it. I kindly request it to be returned in its original packaging. You're responsible for covering the shipping costs for the return. Returning items to Groningen is also possible, but please arrange an appointment through WhatsApp or email.

How does the return process work? Send an email to jente @kenschetser.nl with:

∙ Your name
∙ Address
∙ Order number
∙ Bank account number (for refunding the purchase amount)
∙ Reason for return (not obligatory)

You can also download the right of withdrawal form here.

You will receive an email from me within 3 working days confirming your intention to exercise your right of withdrawal. This email will also contain the return address. The purchase amount will be refunded within 14 days after receiving the returned products.
